Buy inline skating helmets: protection for your head on every skate
The helmet is the most important part of your protective gear. In a fall on asphalt it can reduce the risk of serious head injuries, and that applies to a leisurely evening skate just as much as to speed skating training. In this collection you will find inline skating helmets from Powerslide and Rollerblade.
Which helmet is right for you?
- Rollerblade Strike Helmet: a helmet for recreational and fitness skaters.
- Powerslide Fitness Basic Helmet: for fitness skaters who are out and about regularly.
- Powerslide Stunt Helmet: a skate-style helmet that is also suitable for skateboarding.
- Powerslide Race Attack: for speed skaters who skate fast in training and races.
Choosing the right size and fit
Measure your head circumference with a tape measure about two finger-widths above your eyebrows and around the widest part of the back of your head. The helmet should sit level on your head and cover your forehead. With the chin strap fastened, it must not shift when you shake your head, but it must not pinch either. There should be room for about one finger between the strap and your chin. Many helmets can be fine-tuned using a dial at the back of the head or interchangeable pads.
When it is time for a new helmet
After a hard impact, you should replace the helmet even if no damage is visible from the outside, as the foam shell inside may be damaged. Plastics also age. So check the shell, straps and buckle regularly.
A helmet is only one part of your protective gear. Complete it with knee and elbow pads or take a look at our full range of protective gear. You can read about what you really need for inline skating in our guide Protective gear for inline skating.
