Buy speed skates: race skates for training and competition
Speed skates are the fastest inline skates: a low-cut, stiff boot, a long aluminium frame and large wheels with a diameter of 100 to 125 mm. This lets you transfer your power directly to the road and maintain high speeds over long distances. We stock speed skates from Powerslide, Rollerblade and Bont, as complete skates or as boots without a frame.
Complete skate or boots only?
A complete skate is ready to go straight away: boot, frame, wheels, bearings and axles are matched to each other, for example on the Powerslide R2 Trinity or the Rollerblade Powerblade Pro 125 3WD. If you already have a favourite frame or put together your own setup, choose a boot without a frame, for example the Bont JET 2 Point with 195 mm mounting. For a perfect fit, we also offer Custom-Made Boots, which are handmade from an impression of your foot.
What matters in a speed skate
- Boot: carbon boots are light and very stiff. The stiffer the boot, the more direct the push-off, but the more important an exact fit becomes.
- Wheel setup: 3 x 125 mm is fast yet agile, 4 x 110 mm runs particularly smoothly. You will also find matching wheels and bearings in our shop.
- Mounting: make sure that boot and frame are compatible, for example 195/165 mm or the Trinity system from Powerslide.
- Brake: many speed skates have no brake. For beginners, there are brakes that can be retrofitted, e.g. the Powerslide brake for 125 mm wheels.
